It can even handle the situation where the new drive is smaller than the original. Only bad thing is the product will make us geeks obsolete.
I will put it simply. The best got even easier to use and faster. With the arrival of Windows 10, Norton Ghost was no longer an option. I'm happy to have found Acronis True Image.
It's fast, backs up to my home NAS, and allows easy retrieval of individual files or recovery of the entire hard drive. I would highly recommend this product.
Fast and Easy to understand. I like the graphic interface. I backed up AND successfully restored my entire main partition C: Went from Acronis True Image to , it seems to backup faster and wanted the ransomware monitor.
Acronis is all it claims to do and more. Easy and fast to download, easy and fast to backup and first class customer service.
Highly recommended to all those of you, like me, who wish to feel confident that if something went wrong with their MAC Book Pro they will have a full image of their HD to recover from, or copy to a new MAC.
This product has made my computer life easier as I am a Pro Photographer and in need of a fast recovery should something happen Acronis is the answer.
So many tools to use and so many options to protect your work. I am currently using it to do incremental backups on a weekly basis.
What amazes me is how fast it is! My last incremental backup was a bit over 10GB, and it only took about 12 minutes It was as if nothing ever changed with an exception of the storage available on the device.
I've been using Acronis for years and it continues to be the standard in imaging and restoration in my opinion. After putting up with the failings of five other back up programs, I finally came across Acronis.
I'm so happy I did [ The way the different methods of backing up are explained and then visualized by animation [ I will speak up in a heartbeat to anyone I hear who is shopping for great back up software.
After testing through a number of backup products I have settled on this one I have used TI for years and this is the most stable and fastest version I have used.
I Have been using Acronis products for over 10 years and have never had a backup. It works well and is very fast. I highly recommend it to even the novice.
It is very easy to use. The only change I would like to see is allowing you to use the sync function to another drive instead of just the cloud, I don't have unlimited internet available in my area so I can't use cloud services yet.
I had bad experiences with Acronis way back. But with this current version, it is working flawlessly. Resources Renewals Contact us Site map.
Australia and Oceania Australia English. While Photoshop can stack images, Helicon Focus selectively masks edge detail in each layer.
Photoshop can only prioritize a particular layer unless you apply selective masking by hand. How is this AI? Surely just a collection of heuristics.
It's marketers appropriating a term from a scientific discipline to gain credibility. And not once but twice - what does 'quantum' have to do with any of this apart from underlying a large amount of physics obviously?
It would be great if companies used more plain terms instead of trying to dress up in the clothes of others. But that's really no more than fancy curve fitting.
Hardly making intelligent decisions. In marketing, it is common for companies to employ the use of the word Quantum to represent a breakthrough or a giant step.
It's purely a marketing term. As long as there actually IS a genuine breakthrough presented, I have no objection to such use in marketing.
However, when it is used to make people falsely think you offer something superior to what you offer in reality, this is deception. Skylum has a good track record, and I trust they are onto something special.
It is actually AI! My toilet also has AI! Every time I flash it for the last 40 years it measures the same amount of water for the right flush!
Can you imagine it? It had AI before it new it has one. I need to share this idea with Homedepot. They should start mark toilet bowls as AI equipped to increase sales.
Please explain the difference between "AI" and "Heuristics. That is great to hear. When I moved from Capture One to Lightroom a few years ago, that wasn't the case.
Beauty is in the eye, I guess.. I love Luminar ; it became a good addition to my workflow. Delays are understandable, but there is no transparency at all or a concrete date.
Sorry Skylum, but you lost me as a customer. We've working on the parity at the moment, and almost all features of the Mac version will be present in the Windows version by the end of this year.
Some might be implemented differently though. The DAM is also scheduled for release by the end of this year. Data asset management predates Lightroom and Luminar by many years, even predating personal computers.
Roger Codd, IBM, formulated the rules for data management, aka relational data bases, in the early 70's. These rules were quickly adopted by others, including Oracle, but not IBM until much later.
Like Nikon and mirrorless, data base management infringed on their key, "suits-based" data base products.
Thank for the reply. I used to be in the soft. I know that delays can happen. However, the lack of transparency on why all these delays is concerning.
Explain that your project manager gave you wrong estimates or you had the X and Y issues. Instead, you keep building up hype for it AND announce new products.
Sure, different delivery teams, but still, not looking good for you as a company. Yes, I am aware. In fact, for media "MAM" is the better term to use, but it would confuse people.
No rant, for real,. It's more than awful, and not realistic after all. HDR does have it's niche, when its careful being added to a photograph, but not like these samples here, Skylum have had posted.
Sorry, but they're awful, Photomatix Pro made this Look more than a decade ago, and it's quite horrible, over-processed, un-natural.
Surely people have moved on from the revolting, unrealistic gimmick that was HDR? HDR was all the rage over a decade ago, most people now see it looks appalling.
People have not moved away from HDR but hopefully that have moved away from the overprocessed cartoon style you refer to. I use HDR a lot but I hope people looking at my images don't realise.
This upgrade should be free of charge to owners of the current Windows version. When I purchased Aurora last fall, the batch process feature was promised for end of Basically got full capability for 90 days before a new version is released?
It finally came in June of Probably not going to get any more of my money even though it looks like an improved product. If they -- or any company -- really could create realistic looking HDR that didn't look like HDR but had protected highlights and opened shadows, they would make a killing.
Realistic includes window frames that don't get all "smokey" when the exposure of the window glass itself is reduced.
All kidding aside, even two years after the first Pixel I'm still surprised with the tone mapping and merging it does almost instantly, it gets things right relatively speaking far far more often than not.
Agreed with the Pixel comment, I can't use the images that come out of it for my job, but man, it does the best job of HDR I've ever seen, I'm consistently very impressed, shocked sometimes.
You can decide strength of the effect in Aurora. Almost anything is possible from very mild to ultra-unrealistic results. It is probably your fault then I also use Aurora, and when tuned well, the images doesn't look unrealistic.
Thanks for these helpful insights. My biggest HDR challenge is interior architectural photography, particularly windows and lightbulbs.
I agree that the Pixel 2 is incredible at this. I also use the Fusion app on my phone which often not always can do a perfect rendition of an interior scene.
Thanks for the comments. HDR is the way in which bracketed exposures are combined so that the entire dynamic range is incorporated into a single, 32 bit image.
Unlike Photomatix, you can save the 32 bit AuroraHD master, and return to it for further processing. It is the tone-mapping stage which produces the often bizarre effects commonly though of as "HDR.
Effects are mild to wild, depending on your tastes and objectives. With in-body image stabilization, I can shoot 3 or 5 shot brackets hand-held.
Better to have it and not need it than the other way around. Does Aurora play nice with Photoshop? Can you process a picture in one after having it worked on in the other.
Photoshop will not open a raw AuroraHD. You can select one of many templates profiles in auroraHD for the rendering, or none at all. You can also open a single file, including most RAW images in Aurora, and use its powerful tone-mapping, masking, and adjustment tools.
That's actually a good way to go for image with people or other moving objects. Furthermore, AuroraHD does a good job of minimizing ghosting, even within bracketed sets of images.
Ed, you are totally correct, however most of the times it is not confusion, just the fact that "HDR images" term is used for, generally more visually striking, toned mapped images.
And probably will not change. It's like the "hologram" thing: HDR is still a thing? I thought it was a terrible fad that everyone got tired of five years ago.
Probably more than half of online landscape images that are decent enough to look at are under the HDR influence in a way or the other.
It's probably gonna become more popular with HDR displays the can increase contrast higher than ever It works very well.
I have a Pixel 2 which uses A. Which are a great improvement over Canon OTC results. I haven't used any version of the Skylum software so I don't know how well it works.
But I do know that A. I driven computational photography exists and it works very well. Also see Topaz A.
I have used AuroraHD since version one, and it works very well indeed. Before that I used Photomatix, which is not nearly as flexible nor as "smart.
I'm not one to buy plug-ins, since Photoshop does most of what I need by itself. But HDR is one exception where there is a real gap for other software to fill.
Perhaps nothing, if you have the time and experience. AuroraHD is to Photoshop as flying an airliner is to stick-and-rudder. For those who hate Adobe and their subscription model.
This is the alternative. Where's the darn DAM tho? Is the beta they're running public? Any feedback on that yet? But I'd rather get a good taste of what the whole package will look like in the long run.
The DAM for Luminar will be released by the end of this year. At the moment the beta is not public, we're running it among our educators and ambassadors.
As usual - demo pictures do exaggerate the effect. Ed - sarcasm do not become the. I think that would be just fine.
Yes, that's a real show stopper for me too. I bought Luminar and it's laying idle as in my color-managed environments it's just plain useless.
They should be serious if they want to call it pro. Working within a color-managed system, each color space looks like another.
You'd think they would clean the large numbers of dust spots out of the sky before processing although perhaps they are deliberately left there to show the effect on them.
When will AI get rid of dirt off sensor? A few puffs on the sensor with a good blower when changing lenses in the field saves a lot of work in post.
HDR rendering exaggerates details, especially details you would rather not see. The same for stitched panoramas. No Nikon camera we've tested to date balances stills and video capture as well as the Nikon Z7.
Though autofocus is less reliable than the D, Nikon's first full-frame mirrorless gets enough right to earn our recommendation. Nikon's Coolpix P has moved the zoom needle from 'absurd' to 'ludicrous,' with an equivalent focal length of mm.
While it's great for lunar and still wildlife photography, we found that it's not suited for much else. If you're interested in stills and video, though, it's knockout.
The Nikon Z7 is slated as a mirrorless equivalent to the D, but it can't subject track with the same reliability as its DSLR counterpart.
AF performance is otherwise good, except in low light where hunting can lead to missed shots. We're well underway putting it through our range of standard tests — take a look at how it compares to the competition and our thoughts on using it so far.
These entry level cameras should be easy to use, offer good image quality and easily connect with a smartphone for sharing. Whether you've grown tired of what came with your DSLR, or want to start photographing different subjects, a new lens is probably in order.
We've selected our favorite lenses for Sony mirrorlses cameras in several categories to make your decisions easier. We've selected our favorite lenses for Canon DSLRs in several categories to make your decisions easier.
We've selected our favorite lenses for Nikon DSLRs in several categories to make your decisions easier. Mexico City architect and photographer Moises Levy uses composition and timing to create surreal beachside street photography.
The Nikon Z6 is the lower-resolution, faster sibling to the Z7, and has already shown impressive results in our preliminary testing.
Take a look at how it performs outside of the studio. A new software update allows users of the Rylo camera to squeeze more resolution out of the camera's degree footage.
Photopea is a free Photoshop alternative that works directly in the browser and offers advanced features including spot removal, clone tool, layers, filters, and masks.
Since publishing our full review, we've continued shooting with the Fujifilm X-T3 here and there — sometimes on assignment, and sometimes because we just like it so darn much.
Our sample gallery has been updated with fresh images. We've updated our camera buying guides, and the Fujifilm X-T3 was selected as a top choice in three different categories.
Benro has launched a new 3-axis gimbal that has a convertible handle that can be used in upright and carry configurations. Flickr has announced that it will not delete images from its Creative Commons or Flickr Commons collections and is working hand-in-hand with institutions and non-profits to "keep these photos safe and available for the world to view and enjoy.
The lens is consistent across the frame and the sensor looks good but, like the Z7, the PDAF stripes aren't perfectly corrected so can occasionally become visible.
NASA has shared the first 8K footage filmed from outer space. In addition to streaming on YouTube, you can also download the full-res footage to your computer.

Leica has announced the Leica Q-P, a humble version of its Leica Q camera that it calls "an artful statement of understatement.
If you're thinking of adding to your lens collection, these guides may be just what you're looking for. Fotolia sent out an email notifying users that, beginning November , they will no longer be able to access their Fotolia accounts and will instead need to transition to Adobe stock or another stock photography service.
Filmmaker Jimmy Chin has worked all over the world, in some of the most remote places on earth. With tons of resolution and dynamic range, the Nikon Z7 is a great camera for shooting landscapes.
But what about semi-pro wrestling? We spent an evening with the Z7 at DEFY Wrestling, which offered plenty of peak action and tricky lighting - see the results in our updated sample gallery.
Not everybody wants or needs a full frame sensor, but that doesn't mean you have to give up pro-level performance on your camera.
ONDU has opened a Kickstarter campaign for its latest collection of pinhole cameras, a third-generation series that consists of more than 19 models across , , medium format, and large format varieties.

Skylum software launches Aurora HDR comments. A screen shot of Aurora HDR Before and after processing in Aurora HDR The bonus pack includes: Casey Fry If you rely on batch processing, look elsewhere, at least for now.
Tom Holly I understand this can do natural looking HDR, but can this software do natural looking stacking insertion of my mm moon shots into my ultrawide landscape photos?
AstroStan There is similar but an even stronger dynamic in astro-photography. Ed Ingold Blessed are the nay-sayers, for they and those they persuade are out of the competition ;.
Petak I like the mood of the "before processing" picture more. Rob Why is there no trial version?
Sir 7 I see a lot of unhappiness about Skylum software. Please give me your suggestions. Ed Ingold AuroraHD , the subject of this article, acts as a stand-alone program, or as a plug-in for Photoshop and Lightroom, and several other programs.
I think what i really need is a magic wand, lol! AriesII PhotoMatrix is great too. Sir 7 I have the full version of Photomatix Pro, but it's not suitable for real estate photography.
The need for truly natural-looking HDR real estate software cannot be overstated. Tommi K1 Most HDR effects really look bad, almost always you get better results just by taking the bracketed frames in layers and masking out each individually.
Snapper I love the game changing results I'm seeing here! Where can I place my order? Paul Barnard Suckered not sickened. MannyZero And I thought that overcooking images with HDR was a fade of the past, since bokeh is the flavor of the month.
Don Mario this looks really bad. MannyZero Don Mario, I'm so glad you brought this word "Esthetics" into the conversation, for I'd like to just quote 3 liners on its definition.
Those examples are awful! All they need are a few unicorns and leaping dolphins. Reactive Yep, they remind me of very badly printed postcards from the s era.
Graham 31 Dec ? DejayRezme Is there a photo "lightroom" software like Aurora or Luminar that can also do focus stacking for macro photography well?
Ed Ingold I use Helicon Focus. AndroC How is this AI? Rensol It is actually AI!Mit 24 Pappbilderbüchern Diverse.
